Indulge in everything you thought you couldnít in this three-course gluten-free meal brought to you by Time Out and The Star
Fun fact about Gabriele Taddeucci, head chef at Darling Harbourís Balla restaurant: he suffers from coeliac disease. For an Italian growing up in the beautiful hills of Tuscany, this particular plight meant he couldnít partake in many classic Italian dishes.
And heís not alone. Thatís why weíre giving the gluten intolerants a night to shine with an exclusive dinner made up of delicious gluten-free Italian treats.
Your three-course meal will start with house-baked buckwheat bread and rosemary focaccia on arrival, with shared antipasti to follow, including mozzarella stuffed zucchini flowers, baccala mantecato and beef carpaccio served with Reggiano, artichokes and chickpea wafer.
The main event is the pasta, of course. There'll be gnocchi tossed with traditional duck ragý, and strozzapreti with spanner crab, cherry tomato and garlic, all served with baked cauliflower and mixed leaf salad with honey vinegar. Save some room for dessert, which will be cannoli, the classic Sicilian sweet pastry filled with ricotta, chocolate and pistachio.
The dinner will be $75 a head and be held on Tuesday May 30 at Balla's Darling Harbour digs. Buon appetito!
WHEN: Tuesday May 30th
