The Wild Rover and their whisky club, The Whiskey Co-Op, are again putting a ‘cool’ twist on your average whisky tasting.
National Whisky Ambassador Simon McGoram and Mr Goaty Gelato are taking over upstairs at ‘The Rover’ for a tasting of artisan gelato paired (and created) with Scotch whisky.
Founded by former Three Blue Ducks chef Dan Hughes, Mr Goaty was created in 2015 out of his kitchen in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. After testing the the first batches of gelato with his family, a unique business was born and his residency at Bondi Farmers Market has become hugely popular. Now the Mr Goaty team have a herd of goats and gelato scoopers catering to private parties and markets across New South Wales. And now for one-night-only, Mr Goaty is venturing into the world of whisky!
Simon McGoram has taken the reigns as National Whisky Ambassador and now leads the charge in hosting some amazing whisky events featuring the massive Diageo whisky portfolio. He is no stranger to the whisky world, having been in a similar role in the past before opening his own bars and restaurants throughout Sydney.
Jovial neighbourhood bar The Wild Rover have created whisky experiences for over three years since the creation of their whisky club, The Whiskey Co-Op. Previous events have seem them pair their favourite hooch with cheese, craft beer, biltong and even chocolate along with free monthly tastings for members of the Co-Op.
